Series Number
The series number represents a group of bearings that share the same dimensions (excluding the bore size). Therefore a UCP-207, UCP-207-21, and UCP-207-23 will all have identical dimensions. Part numbers ending with the series number are metric bore bearings.
Bore Size Number
This number is a representative number for the bore size in inches. To find the actual inch bore size, divide this number by 16. Therefore, on the UCP-212-39, 39/16 = 2.4375 or a 2 7/16" bore. Part numbers without the bore size number are metric bore bearings.
Single Seal:
Our single seal consists of a thick pressed steel outer piece with a vulcanized synthetic sealing rubber lip baked to the inside. The steel acts a shield protecting the rubber seal from contaminants and damage while the rubber sealing lip keeps contaminants from entering the bearing. |
 |
 |
Double Seal:
Our double seal consists of two seals working simultaneously to exclude contaminants while retaining grease. The outer seal is a thick steel slinger that is fixed to the inner ring while the inner seal is an oil seal consisting of synthetic rubber that has been baked to a supporting steel core. This inner seal is attached to the outer ring and gently contacts the outer ring. Furthermore, when in motion, the combination of these two seals create wind pressure between the seals helping to keep out contaminates. |
 |
 |
Triple Lip Seal:
Our triple lip seal is our best option for severe conditions and contaminate control. The triple lip consists of synthetic rubber that has been baked to a protective heavy duty steel cap. The three fingers of the seal contact the inner ring of the bearing successfully keeping out all contaminates. |

Prior to installing, be sure to clean both the shaft and the bore of the bearing. Lightly oil the shaft to ease installation. Verify shaft diameter is within the tolerance specified below as out-of-round shafts and/or shafts out of tolerance can damage the bearing causing premature failure.

Set screws should be tightened evenly on the shaft until both are snug. Once snug, each set screw should be further tightened to the recommended torque value in the following table. Be careful not to over torque the set screws as over tightening can cause bearing and/or shaft damage.

RAM bearings should be operated between the temperatures of -4°F and 248°F. Operating a RAM bearing at temperatures over 150°F reduces the life of grease and requires more frequent greasing intervals. Please refer to the following chart for proper greasing intervals.
RAM Bearings (non-stainless) are properly prelubricated with high quality lithium based, water resistant grease. It is not necessary to grease the bearing upon initial installation. While in use, consistent greasing intervals of the bearing will be needed. Factors such as speed, operating temperature, surrounding conditions and grease quality will determine the appropriate greasing intervals. Be sure not to over grease the bearing as over greasing can cause seal damage and over heating leading to premature bearing failure. Please refer to the following tables for greasing guidelines.
